About Us:
We are working with a diverse and vibrant primary school in the Borough of Newham. The role of the Behaviour Mentor has never been more important as the school continues to build their SEND department in order to meet the needs of all students. The successful applicant will be a kind, resilient, nurturing, well-qualified individual who understands the importance of relationships, patience, understanding, and respect, whilst managing to respond to the complex needs and requirements of the students.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Working closely with students who require additional support or have specific learning needs.
2. Conducting regular assessments and tracking student progress.
3. Collaborating with teachers and parents.
4. Providing support with the hourly management of busy corridors, assisting students who have been exited from their classroom.
5. Supporting students on out-of-school transfers by attending meetings and visiting students.
6. Assisting with the internal reflection space team in managing student behaviour and demonstrating high standards.
7. Helping students reintegrate into lessons after spending time on external school transfers and internal reflection space time.
Requirements:
1. Qualifications: Childcare qualification or equivalent.
2. Experience: Previous experience working with students with SEND.
3. Knowledge: Understanding of SEN and behaviour.
4. Desirable: Experience working with children with SEND within a school setting.
