We’re simply not a one-size-fits-all firm and work hard to create an environment where our people can make a difference - to themselves, their career, their teams, and to the success of RSM and our clients.
About the opportunity
We are now looking for an enthusiastic, ambitious individual to join our growing Tax Dispute Resolution Service in the North West Region. The role provides the opportunity to work on both regional and national clients, and alongside case delivery will be a focus on business development and further growing our Tax Investigations proposition.
Specific responsibilities of this role include:
* Project management of a wide range of client engagements.
* Management of financial and budget requirements on all allocated client engagements, with a particular focus on client onboarding administration and timely WIP management.
* Working alongside the Partners and other Associated Directors within the team, to develop the profile of the business and identify and secure opportunities as they arise.
* Delivering a high-quality Tax Dispute Resolution Service to our clients, in collaboration with your colleagues, and addressing any queries or enquiries relating to your client engagement.
* Acting as a key part of the team, having regular dialogue with other team members and other RSM teams to plan the delivery of work to clients.
* Working closely with your colleagues to provide value, adding technically accurate, clear and concise tax advice covering a range of technical issues relevant to your client’s HMRC enquiries and interventions, whilst adhering to the Firm’s quality standards.
* Liaising with individuals in other RSM departments, and offices, to support them in providing a high-quality service to their clients and to identify tax related risks and opportunities.
* Manage your work schedule, adhering to deadlines and liaising with team members to keep them up to date on progress.
* Ensuring continual improvement in your skills, knowledge and capability for the benefit of our clients and your own personal and professional development.
* Offering coaching and guidance to more junior members of the team.
About the ideal candidate
* ATT and / or CTA qualified (or HMRC equivalent).
* Ideally recent experience of working for HMRC in investigations focused roles; in the absence of such experience, a proven track record of working on Tax Dispute related client engagements.
* Proven experience in client handling and managing a busy portfolio.
* Ability to work in a team environment.
* Strong interpersonal skills with excellent communication, both written and verbal with an ability to liaise with people at all levels.
* Motivated to provide the highest quality service to clients.
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise effectively for self and other members of the team.
* Ability and confidence to influence both internal and external clients.
