Main duties of the job
The Operational Coordinator is a key member of staff whose role is to support operational effectiveness of the NEMS CBS Out of Hours and all NEMS CBS Operational Coordination Contracts.
The main purpose of this role is to work with the Shift Leader to ensure efficient and effective administrative service to the Out of Hours Services including clinicians and patients.

Job responsibilities
* Receive, assist and direct patients accessing NEMS services in a courteous, efficient and effective way.
* Answer calls in a professional manner in accordance with the service agreements.
* File paperwork.
* Computer data entry/data allocation and collation, processing and recording information in accordance with procedures.
* Regular patient contact to ensure that NEMS CBS requirements are met.
* Assist the Shift Leader and Service Managers.
* Co-ordinate home visits and patient transport.
* Liaise with staff at 111 and other medical organisations.
* Receive and assist service users and providers in a courteous, efficient and effective way.
* Ensure only authorised personnel enter the building and follow relevant data protection and security procedures.
* Provide assistance and support to new members of staff.

Qualifications
* Educated to a minimum of GCSE or equivalent standard, including English at Grade C or above.
Experience

* Experience of working within the NHS.
* Experience in dealing with customer complaints.
Knowledge
* Proficient in the use of computers, with a willingness to learn to use any computer systems that NEMS requires in its new services.
