Job title: Quality Inspector Job Type: Contract IR35 Status: Inside IR35 Start date: Subject to clearance Duration: 12 Months Pay rate: Depending on experience Location: Winsford Onsite: 5 days onsite Hours of work: 37 Hours Per Week Role information: Oversee and govern selected suppliers to maintain the integrity of products and services, ensuring compliance with company requirements related to suppliers. Define quality standards for each supplier, in alignment with customer contractual needs, collaborating closely with the purchasing team. Take proactive measures when suppliers fail to meet quality standards, offering solutions, sharing best practices, and driving the closure of gaps to guarantee improvements. Support the implementation of effective problem-solving and corrective actions by suppliers, ensuring recurrence prevention. Advocate for the use of best practice problem-solving techniques and ensure timely resolution of non-conformances or failure investigations, with lessons learned communicated as needed. Manage the approval process for designated suppliers and service providers, from approval requests to quality plans and certifications, ensuring consistency with the scope of work. Contribute to Project Management reviews by providing insights on supplier performance, adherence to requirements, and non-conformance resolution. Actively participate in all FAIR process reviews for key suppliers and projects. Qualifications/Experience Required: Ideally, possess a degree in a relevant Quality/Engineering discipline or have equivalent experience and knowledge. Solid understanding of manufacturing processes and systems relevant to the production and maintenance of (reciprocal engine-driven) power generation, electrical control, and distribution equipment. Familiarity with relevant Regulatory and Industry Codes and Standards. Ability to rapidly develop a functional understanding of complex products and systems. Professional integrity to raise concerns and identify risks regarding the suitability of a process in relation to safety and fitness for purpose. Skilled in distilling complex technical issues to make them understandable for various audiences. Knowledgeable in Quality Management Standards and Systems (ISO/AS). Familiarity with MRP systems.
