This expanding family-run business specialises in supplying veterinary hospitals and surgeries. The ideal candidate for this position will possess a positive, engaging personality, the energy to work hard and efficiently, and the capability to accept additional responsibilities where necessary. This position is required for a period of 4 months initially. The contract could be extended or made permanent. The company is in a lovely rural setting; therefore, candidates must have access to their own transport. Key duties & responsibilities Picking stock items using a hand-held scanner Packing customer orders Processing inbound stock items (goods-in) Stocktaking of warehouse items Conduct daily housekeeping duties to maintain high standards of cleanliness and safety General warehouse duties as required or directed Conduct all duties and activities in accordance with health and safety policies, guidance and good judgement Able to manage goods in calendar Able to create and execute a plan of what needs to be done that day within the operations. Has a complete understanding of key tasks within the warehouse – ie. Goods in, Goods out, Stock take, Returns, Despatch, maintain H&S standards, manage different storage facilities (e.g. temperature controlled area) Required qualifications, knowledge, experience & skills Good English, Maths and IT skills Physically fit – manual handling is a key part of the role Good teamwork and leadership skills with excellent communication The ability to complete paperwork and count stock items An understanding of health and safety regulations Honest, reliable, hard-working with a “can do attitude” Goes the extra mile to get the job complete (prepared to work overtime) A counterbalance/flexi forklift license would be beneficial but not essential
