Hollinwood Academy is part of the New Bridge Multi Academy Trust. We provide a broad and balanced curriculum that enables children and young people from reception to Key Stage 4 to access creative learning opportunities tailored to meet their individual needs. We focus on successful, innovative curriculum design, providing children and young people with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and speech, language and communication needs their full entitlement.
We are looking to appoint an experienced and motivated Deputy Head of School for Safeguarding and Behaviour from Easter 2025 (although we can negotiate a mutually convenient start).
We invite enthusiastic and passionate individuals with experience at senior leadership level, who have a proven track record of positively impacting standards across school for safeguarding and behaviour.
The successful candidate will:
* Be passionate about working with children and young people with SEND and Autism, offering them a breadth of opportunity and support to reach their destination.
* Have senior leadership experience of managing and developing safeguarding and behaviour systems across school, monitoring and reviewing the quality of provision and effectiveness.
* Have experience of leading the Safeguarding team as the designated DSL, overseeing all child protection/safeguarding concerns to ensure that concerns are promptly dealt with and cases appropriately referred.
* Have knowledge and understanding of autism and how students with autism learn and be able to use knowledge of ASC strategies to adapt learning to meet the needs of these students.
* Be an excellent practitioner with the commitment and motivation to inspire children and young people’s learning and holistic development.
* Demonstrate enthusiasm for educational improvement and life-long learning.
* Act as a source of support, advice and expertise for staff on all areas of safeguarding and behaviour.
* Develop a partnership approach to working with children, young people, staff, parents, carers, other agencies and stakeholders.
* Be a reflective practitioner with excellent organisational skills.
* Possess the emotional and physical resilience necessary when working with children and young people with a range of complex needs.

Although based initially at our Roman Road sites, all staff are employed by the MAT and are expected to work at any site within the New Bridge Group.
