Senior Electrical Officer Annual Salary: £37,035 to £40,476 Location: Sheffield Job Type: Full-time Join the vibrant city of Sheffield in an exciting role as a Senior Electrical Officer within the Housing & Neighbourhood Service. This position plays a crucial role in managing our 39,000 council homes, ensuring they are safe, warm, and provide excellent service to our residents. Day-to-day of the role: Deliver contract administration services for the operational delivery of domestic electrical and other installation programmes, including security systems like door entry, CCTV, and alarms. Implement and monitor on-site quality assurance, defect inspection, and handover procedures in accordance with Sheffield City Council policies. Participate in a multi-disciplinary team responsible for various services including heating improvements and tenant-contractor liaison. Conduct joint inspections with Neighbourhood Officers, providing guidance on electrical maintenance and improvements. Advise on and assess tenant requests for changes to electrical installations. Undertake inspections and surveys, prepare technical and non-technical reports, and present findings and recommendations. Scope and support strategies for future housing requirements, aiming for net-zero emissions by 2030. Ensure effective consultation and communication with tenants, contractors, elected members, and other stakeholders, including participation in local project and working groups. Required Skills & Qualifications: Experience in dealing with contractors and providing customer care. Demonstrated ability to work positively, brainstorm ideas, and inspire teamwork. Skilled in conducting condition and dilapidation surveys with actionable recommendations. Organised, calm under pressure, and able to produce high-quality investment reports. Leadership skills in consulting with customers about future capital work programmes. Must hold the 18th edition IEE wiring regulations qualification.
