Burials and Allotments Administrator Annual Salary : Pro-rata £26,409 (equivalent to £13.69 per hour) Job Type : Part-time (22.5 hours per week) Contract : Permanent Local Council is seeking a dedicated and skilled Burials and Allotments Administrator to manage the operations of a Cemetery and its allotment sites. This role is ideal for someone who is enthusiastic, personable, and capable of handling sensitive situations with professionalism. Day-to-Day Responsibilities: Manage all aspects of cemetery operations including processing interment requests, applications, and fees, maintaining accurate records, and coordinating groundworks and memorials. Oversee allotment operations by managing tenancies, conducting inspections, addressing enquiries and complaints, and supporting allotment associations. Provide exceptional front-line customer service, handling public enquiries in person, via email, over the phone, and through written correspondence. Promote and develop the council's cemetery and allotment services by identifying and implementing improvements to practices, policies, and procedures. Attend interments and ensure all procedures are followed accurately. Maintain high-quality data management and compliance with GDPR and other statutory regulations. Required Skills & Qualifications: A-Levels or equivalent experience in administration. Excellent IT skills, proficient with Microsoft Office suite. Outstanding communication and organizational abilities. Experience in a burial authority and/or managing allotments is highly desirable. Knowledge of statutory regulations relating to cemeteries. Ability to act with sensitivity when dealing with bereaved families. Self-motivated with great attention to detail. Commitment to equality, health & safety, and environmental practices.
