This role is an exciting opportunity to work on Eastern Green Link 1 (EGL1), the first east coast HVDC link, a £2.5bn construction project, and one of Scottish Power’s contributions to the UK’s Net Zero Target.
You will apply your engineering knowledge and experience to develop and coordinate activities on EGL1, engaging effectively with internal and external stakeholders and managing interfaces across the project to ensure activities remain efficient and timely whilst minimising risks to the successful delivery of EGL1.
What you’ll be doing
1. Promoting Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality (SHEQ) compliance.
2. Coordinating engineering interfaces between EGL1 work packages, EGL1 Joint Venture (JV) Partners and other neighbouring projects in an efficient manner.
3. Participating in the engineering development and delivery of the EGL1 project.
4. Building and developing a broad network of contacts across the EGL1 project, National Grid, JV Partners, contractors and specialist engineering groups.
5. Convening and chairing interface meetings, managing interface engineering activities, tracking progress, identifying any risks and issues, maintaining interface registers/schedules.
6. Coordinating delivery of work packages, reviewing design outputs, attending design review meetings and liaising with the wider EGL1 interface team to ensure consistency across defined interface points.
7. Supporting the handover of the project to the Operational Teams.
What you’ll bring
1. Degree in an appropriate Engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
2. Experience in a senior responsible position working across a range of Major engineering infrastructure type projects such as utilities, Road, Rail or Major CAPEX projects.
3. Extensive stakeholder management experience with good influencing, negotiating and communication skills (verbal and written).
4. Awareness of UK Health and Safety legislation and the specific regulations which apply to Major engineering and construction projects.
5. Experience in Transformation and Distributions networks desirable.
