Catering Services Cook/Chef (contracted)
Permanent – 37.5 HPW – Tue/Wed/Thu/Fri/Sun
7.5 HPD – 8am-4pm
Flexibility is required to cover events, absences, holidays.
The Catering Services Cook/Chef will assist in overseeing and directing all aspects of the day-to-day operation of the kitchen. Working alongside and under the guidance of the Catering Services & Bar Manager, they will ensure all food hygiene standards and regulations are adhered to, high standards are met and exceeded, and food wastage is kept to a minimum.
Supporting the Catering Services & Bar Manager with catering for the Events Team, they will deliver set menus and bespoke catering services for hires and events of a high standard.
With the Catering Services & Bar Manager, they will develop and produce an imaginative and deliverable menu, appropriate to the venue and visitor profile, focusing on fresh, seasonal, and where possible, local ingredients, ensuring the highest standards of food hygiene, service, and health and safety procedures.
They will help supervise kitchen and café assistants as required, especially during the Holiday Fun programme, where we provide free meals, working with and supervising local community groups to cater a set menu for approximately 140 people per day over the school holidays, alongside our normal café service.
This is a varied role that is hands-on, working alongside staff/casuals in the kitchen, Café Supervisors, and front of house. Being able to prioritize and manage a busy workload to meet customer and Firstsite’s demands is essential.
