The Radiology Department at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary is looking for an enthusiastic Clinical Support Worker to join our friendly team supporting our service.
Applicants will be expected to be well organised, have excellent communication skills, and familiarity with IT systems. Ideally, you will have experience of relevant work in a healthcare environment and have a Level 3 NVQ or equivalent experience in healthcare.

Main duties of the job
The duties will mainly involve supporting the Radiologists, Radiographers, and Radiology Nurses in clinical duties in CT, MRI, Ultrasound, and the Radiology Day Care Unit. This will include supporting sterile procedures and carrying out venepuncture and cannulation.
You will also be involved in the smooth and efficient running of these services, including some admin and clerical duties, for example, making appointments on the computerised Radiology Information System and liaising with wards for in-patient appointments.
You will be required to work Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week, on a varied rota which will include 0830 - 1700; 0730 - 1530 & 1200 - 2000 shifts on rotation. There is a requirement to work two weekends in a 9-week roster period, undertaking a 0730-2030 shift on a Saturday and Sunday, with time back during the week. Bank Holidays are shared out with all staff.
Person specification
Education and Qualifications
* Good General Education including English and Maths GSCE at Grade C/4 or above or Functional Skills Level 2.
* Good Command of English Language
* NVQ Level 3 Diagnostic and Therapeutic Radiography support or equivalent experience
* Trained in cannulation
* Trained in venepuncture
Experience
* Experience of patient-facing hospital or care work
* Experience in a radiology or out-patient clinic setting
Skills, ability and knowledge
* Knowledge of computer systems relating to healthcare
* Ability to work to Trust and Department Policies and Procedures
* Evidence of personal development (PDP)
* Knowledge of Radiology Information Systems and PACS.
