About us Senior Band 6 Staff Nurse - Paediatrics (Dolphin/Lion Ward) Band 6 staff nurse is to act as a role model in accordance to the trust behaviour framework and values, exhibiting excellence through practice and collaborating on a daily basis with the MDT team for best outcomes for our patient group. The role covers an acute medical pediatric ward treating children from birth to 16 years old. The role includes Oncology, Safeguarding, eating disorders, HDU, orthopaedics, ENT, surgical and other childhood illnesses and accidents. The role includes coordinating, this requires experience being able to lead a shift, managing flow through departments, recognising the deteriorating child and supporting the ward in trust initiatives as well as ward level management of junior staff and quality improvement projects.
