BDS are recruiting for an experienced Housing Support worker, working with a social justice charity providing housing related support to vulnerable adults 18+ in the rough sleepers service.
About the role
The working hours will be Monday to Friday, 9.30am to 5.30pm, covering a caseload of around 21 tenants in a shared community setting, covering Haringey, Barnet and Hackney. Two days a week you will be based in the office near the Liverpool Street station, while the rest of the week involves client/property visits.
Your responsibilities will include:
1. Directly supporting tenants to manage their tenancy.
2. Assisting them with housing benefit claims.
3. Signposting them to relevant support services and liaising with support services where required.
4. Conducting initial and regular assessments of the potential or actual service user including any risks, their needs, and requirements in respect of the service to determine eligibility for the service and taking necessary action where required.
Pay: £29,575 per annum PAYE / £38,638 per annum UMB
Temp to perm position.
About you
You will need to have experience in supporting clients with their tenancies, applying for benefits, and signposting information.
Requirements
You will need an enhanced Adult DBS in place, less than 8 months old or registered on the update service.
