We’re looking for a driven individual to join our growing Current Account Team, as Product Manager.
Growing current accounts is at the heart of our strategy. We have ambitious plans and we’re looking for somebody who can develop plans and propositions to deliver our purpose ‘current accounts that are fairer and more rewarding, underpinned by a simply brilliant service’.
The Product Manager will join the Strategy, Acquisition & Engagement team within Current Accounts, who are responsible for setting the strategic direction for our products, and delivering a transformation of our Current Account business, in line with our purpose.

For this job you'll spend at least two days per week, or if part time you'll spend 40% of your working time, based at either our London, Swindon or Northampton office. The role will also require travel to Swindon at least once a month.

What you’ll be doing
You’ll be responsible for leading on the full proposition development and delivery for elements of our product strategy, making sure your propositions meet customer needs, are commercially viable and feasible through working closely with our technology and delivery teams to take them to market.
* You’ll design, develop and make recommendations for the product strategy, implementing new (and enhancing existing) propositions, products and customer journeys, which balance customer, commercial and risk considerations.
* You’ll ensure your plans are insight led through building a clear understanding of segment needs and both the internal/external context.
* You’ll partner with our Finance teams to develop robust benefits cases for your plans, ensuring they meet our commercial ambitions.
* You’ll work closely with technology teams to feasibility assess your propositions, define robust business requirements and act as the day-to-day accountable executive to ensure their successful delivery in line with agreed outcomes.
* You’ll build key relationships across the Society – finding consensus and influencing stakeholders to move ideas forward and achieve member and strategic goals.
* You’ll develop written proposals that facilitate formal decision making and broaden the understanding of key issues.
About you
As a minimum, we are looking for someone with the following skills:
* Has Financial Services product management experience and a thorough understanding of the market.
* Experienced in managing financial services products, including completing product governance, risk management and audit processes.
* Experienced in applying Consumer Duty principles in product design and management.
* Understands not only the customer but impacts on commercials, risk and operations and can demonstrate this.
* A collaborative leader who is analytical and creative.
* Proven ability to prioritise effectively, make decisions and get the job done.
* A track record of delivering new products/propositions through exceptional stakeholder and collaboration skills, working together to solve problems whilst achieving business objectives.
* Strategic thinker with the ability to identify challenges and develop solutions through market and customer insight, commercial awareness, and analytical skills.
* Possess strong influencing and collaboration skills, building relationships with stakeholders across the Society.
* Experience presenting information to senior executives and the wider team.
* Have the ability to lead people on an indirect basis.
