Excell Supply are looking for a Full-time RE Teacher to start ASAP on a supply basis. This role could last until the end of this academic year.
Job PurposeTo deliver high-quality Religious Education (RE) lessons that engage and inspire students, fostering critical thinking, cultural awareness, and respect for diverse beliefs.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching and LearningPlan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that meet the requirements of the Curriculum for Wales and support the development of the Four Purposes.Foster an inclusive classroom environment that respects the religious and cultural diversity of all students.Employ a range of teaching strategies and technologies to ensure all learners make progress.Use formative and summative assessment effectively to monitor progress and provide constructive feedback.Curriculum DevelopmentContribute to the design and development of the RE curriculum in alignment with the Curriculum for Wales, including cross-curricular collaboration and integration of local, national, and global contexts.Promote an understanding of different faiths, beliefs, and non-religious perspectives.Professional ResponsibilitiesEngage in regular reflection and evaluation of teaching practices to ensure continual improvement.Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and assessments.Support the pastoral care and well-being of students, promoting their holistic development.Collaboration and Community EngagementWork collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and external organizations to enhance the learning experience.Contribute to whole-school initiatives, events, and assemblies that promote moral, social, and cultural development.
Person Specification
EssentialQualified Teacher Status (QTS) in Wales.Degree in Religious Education, Theology, or a related subject.Knowledge of the Curriculum for WalesAbility to teach RE across Key Stages 3, 4, and potentially 5.Strong classroom management and communication skills.Commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion.
DesirableExperience in developing RE curriculum resources or schemes of work.Familiarity with digital learning tools and blended learning approaches.Experience working in a bilingual (Welsh/English) setting or fluency in Welsh.
