About the Role: Lead and manage a thriving Music department, fostering a love of music amongst students of all abilities (KS3 – KS5). Develop and implement a comprehensive, engaging, and challenging Music curriculum aligned with the National Curriculum. Oversee classroom instruction, ensuring effective delivery of Music lessons across all key stages. Provide ongoing professional development and support to Music teachers within the department. Lead and manage a variety of extracurricular musical activities, including school ensembles, choirs, and musical productions. Contribute to the school's wider cultural enrichment program. Foster strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues, creating a positive and inclusive learning environment. Essential Skills and Experience: Qualified Music Teacher (PGCE or equivalent) with demonstrably successful experience. A proven track record of leading and managing a Music department within a secondary school setting. Excellent pedagogical skills with the ability to create innovative and engaging Music lessons. A strong understanding of the National Curriculum for Music and the ability to translate it into effective classroom practice. Experience in leading and managing extracurricular musical activities. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills. A passion for Music education and a commitment to inspiring a lifelong love of music in students.
