Main duties of the job You will be required to work closely with clinicians, specialist nurses, secretaries, and all members of the Multi-Disciplinary Teams (MDT) and associated departments, to ensure that patients on a cancer pathway are proactively managed throughout their pathway in a timely manner. You will be required to coordinate the patient journey from referral, through diagnostics, treatment planning and treatment, highlighting any potential delays in the pathway promptly. Previous experience of working within an MDT Coordinator or Patient Pathway Coordinator role, alongside an in-depth knowledge of Cancer targets is essential for this role. Candidates must have excellent organisational, communication, interpersonal skills and possess the ability to have difficult conversations in challenging environments. About us The majority of the Cancer Services Team is located in the Southside building, adjoining the main hospital complex and consists of 9 bodysites and approximately 20 staff members. In addition, the MDT Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring all cancer patients are monitored and tracked, maintaining the Somerset Cancer Register (SCR) database and ensuring information is communicated to the appropriate clinical and administrative staff within the Trust.
