Shift Technician (Electrical or Mechanical)
£48,672 per annum + £2,058 Handover Allowance + £2,500 Allowance once you have site familiarisation (£51,358)
Summary
We are looking for a Shift Technician to join our team at NG Bailey, based in Cannon Street, London. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of an international bank and its Trading Floors. This is a critical, 24/7 operation where attention to detail, technical expertise, and reliability are paramount.
You will be part of a dedicated team, ensuring that all mechanical and electrical systems are maintained to the highest standards, supporting the continuous operation of the bank’s critical environments.
Some of the key deliverables in this role will include:
* Perform Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across electrical and mechanical systems, ensuring all tasks are completed within set schedules.
* Conduct thorough BMS checks, identify and record any issues, and report them to the Shift Leader promptly.
* Maintain high standards of site housekeeping, ensuring the reliability and effectiveness of plant and associated systems.
* Respond to Helpdesk-related issues, addressing any reactive maintenance requests related to heating, ventilation, pumps, water tanks, valves, and pipework.
* Comply with Health and Safety standards and the Health and Safety at Work Act (HASAWA), ensuring a safe working environment.
What we’re looking for:
We are looking for a qualified and experienced Shift Technician, either Electrical or Mechanical, with a strong background in building services and a customer-focused attitude. The ideal candidate will possess:
* NVQ / City & Guilds Level 3 in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
* Practical experience in PPM schedules, including both electrical and mechanical systems
* Competency in working with Building Management Systems (BMS), Lighting Control Systems, Heating & Ventilation Systems, Emergency Generators, and UPS
* Previous experience as an Authorised Person (desirable, but not essential)
* Experience working in a Critical Environment (e.g., Banking) is a plus
