Mechanical HVAC Project Engineer Nottingham £55,000 - £65,000 Take charge of mechanical HVAC systems from design to commissioning, working on multi-million pound projects across the UK. Key Responsibilities: Develop detailed system specifications and prepare construction drawings and documentation, including plant and equipment schedules for mechanical HVAC systems. Handle technical submissions and RFI communication with project managers. Place orders with suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring timely and accurate procurement. Coordinate the work of subcontractors to maintain project timelines and quality standards. Manage contract costs from inception to final account, including preparing and agreeing on monthly applications for payments. Monitor project costs, including labour and material expenditures, forecasts, and profit and loss statements. Manage variations and additional works, along with their associated costs. Conduct site visits and inspections, and attend client and subcontractor meetings to ensure project alignment and address issues. Resolve problems and issues that arise during construction to maintain project continuity. Organise the commissioning and startup of new HVAC systems, ensuring proper functionality. Prepare operating and maintenance literature for clients. Provide technical support and training to clients as needed. Stay current with the latest HVAC technologies and industry trends. Qualifications: HND / HNC or preferably a Bachelor’s degree in HVAC mechanical engineering or a related field involving physics and thermodynamics. Minimum of 7 years of experience in the design and construction of mechanical HVAC systems. Strong understanding of HVAC principles and practices.
