Job Summary
In March 2022 NHS Blood and Transplant launched its Strategy, with the ambition of saving and improving even more lives. It prioritises our donors, modernising our operations, innovation, collaboration with partners, and investing in our people and culture. You will be responsible for leading engagement with business areas within NHSBT, engaging them effectively in the Strategy’s implementation, alongside management of priority strategic projects for NHSBT’s future development.

This substantive post is an opportunity to work at a senior corporate level with the Board, and the Executive and Senior Leadership Teams to continue the delivery and development of the NHSBT Strategy within and across the organisation and with key external stakeholders.
Main duties of the job
The Strategy Manager will lead and support:
* Communication and implementation of the NHSBT Strategy including engaging with relevant stakeholders internally and externally, understanding their different perspectives and support effective delivery and communications planning for the five strategic priorities of the Strategy.
* Development of other strategies across NHSBT alongside building excellent collaborative networks.
* Lead highly complex strategic projects and strategy development impacting on NHSBT’s future direction, directing and managing colleagues from across NHSBT Directorates and managing their outputs.
This role requires excellent written and verbal communication skills, demonstrable experience of Strategy development and implementation. You will be able to synthesise and effectively present information from a wider range of internal and external sources in papers and presentations.
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual whose values match those of NHSBT. You will have a strong understanding of the wider health and social care system alongside strategic management experience. This role requires a self-starter who can swiftly build relationships with key stakeholders across our organisation.
About You
Experience and Knowledge
* Experience of managing strategy programmes and projects.
* Experience of strategic planning and design of complex strategy development programmes.
* Experience of implementing business and organisational change.
* Extensive knowledge and experience of applying structured problem-solving techniques.
* Experience of managing and prioritising resources, and options appraisals.
* Experience of working in diverse, inclusive, high performing teams.
* Advanced keyboard skills for data manipulation and clear and accurate reporting, using a variety of software packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Qualifications and Training
* Educated to Masters’ or equivalent experience in a relevant area such as strategy.
* Postgraduate study in leadership and management or equivalent experience at a senior level.
* Demonstrates commitment to own continued professional development (CPD).
