This is a fantastic career opportunity for someone with engineering programme management experience within the engineering sector to join a highly collaborative and supportive team in our Capital Maintenance Projects. You will deliver modern and innovative solutions to our operational sites.
In this role, you will be responsible for managing a large portfolio of capital projects, providing MEICA and Civil engineering construction solutions for wastewater, water production, waste, and water network functions, both above and below ground.
You will have the opportunity to develop innovative and cost-effective strategies, drive cultural change, improve business processes, and embed our corporate values and behaviors.
What you’ll be doing as an Engineering Operations Manager
* Deliver all capital projects within budget, managing turnover according to forecasts.
* Ensure all construction projects are completed on time, meeting client specifications and standards.
* Manage procurement processes and labor requirements.
* Lead, motivate, and develop a multidisciplinary team of Project Managers and Engineers.
* Ensure timely and effective flow of commercial information.
* Manage client site requirements to minimize operational impact.
* Ensure compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements, including Health & Safety, Environmental standards, and HR policies.
* Promote a strong Health and Safety culture.
* Maintain and develop ISO 9000, 14000, and 18000 systems.
* Manage stakeholder relationships across internal teams and supply chains.
* Base location: Mogden, South West London, with flexible options within the Thames Water area.
* Expected working hours: Monday to Friday, 36 hours/week.
What you should bring to the role
* Proven track record in delivering site-based construction projects within the water industry.
* Operational management experience in water or similar industries.
* Industry-recognized project management qualification.
* Relevant Health & Safety qualification (e.g., NEBOSH).
* Experience managing commercial budgets.
* Experience managing large teams both in person and remotely.

* Full UK driving license and personal transport.
