We are looking for a Business Manager to lead projects on behalf of the Director and inform key decision making within the organisation. The successful candidate will have a key role in leading the Director’s Private Office as well as supporting the wider Programme. The Business Manager will work closely with the Director providing support and direction, driving forward strategic priorities and ensuring programme delivery remains on track.
The Business Manager role is vital, and it is fast paced, challenging and varied. The right person will have strong stakeholder management skills to work with a wide range of colleagues at different levels across the organisation. Our Mission

Strategy and Transformation Group (STG) lead on the Department’s portfolio of Change programmes and projects. We work in multi-disciplinary teams to continually improve how we do things and deliver our services with minimal disruption to DWP customers. While no two days will be the same, the responsibilities may vary but will include:
* Providing executive support to the Programme Director. Ensuring correspondence is progressed and prioritised, identifying where action/briefing is required and commissioning as appropriate
* Undertaking analysis and co-ordinating a wide range of data and information to inform the preparation of briefings and reports
* Actively engaging, maintaining and managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders, collaborating with senior leaders across the organisation to anticipate and respond to issues
* Proactively managing the Director’s priorities and plans, resolving conflict quickly and effectively, identifying risks and taking appropriate and timely action to mitigate or escalate
* Understanding the strategic context of the Programme in line with new Ministerial initiatives and to apply this to prioritisation and decision making
* Providing informed, sound and discrete guidance to the Director on a range of business areas
* Providing secretariat support to senior governance forums including Senior Leadership Team meetings and Business/Assurance Reviews
* Supporting the Director with commercial and procurement processes, in line with DWP Policies and Delegated Financial Authority limits
* Providing leadership to the wider Business Support Network, with direct line management responsibility of a Diary Manager
