The role of a Graduate Automation Engineer is to join the CKF team supporting the Electrical Controls Department with Design, Testing, and Implementation of Automation Systems throughout the UK and internationally.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Design, Testing & Implementation of Software for Automation Systems.
2. Preparation of Software Applications for Customer Acceptance of equipment, prior to delivery.
3. Preparation of FDS Documentation.
4. Research and Development into new products which could be used in Automation Systems.
5. Provide technical support to the sales, proposal, project, and design team, including simulations, estimating, software, and hardware selection.
6. Undertake fault finding during commissioning.
7. Offer technical support to customers across email, phone, remotely, and on-site.
8. Collaborate with clients, colleagues, and other contractors.
9. Work in accordance with BS7617:2018 & Electrical specifications. Knowledge of EN IEC 60204.
Skills & Experience
1. Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science with a focus towards Automation & Control (e.g., Electrical, Instrumentation, or Mechatronics).
2. Proficient technical expertise in control systems, instrumentation, or electrical engineering.
3. Demonstrated ability in analysis and troubleshooting.
4. Openness to collaboration within diverse teams.
5. Development attitude as an approach to daily work.
6. Proficient in Microsoft 365, Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
7. Manage the complexity of information and multiple partners to find solutions.
8. Experience in PLC, HMI, SCADA and/or FactoryTalk Software will be a distinct advantage.
9. Knowledge of Robotic Applications is desirable.
10. Knowledge of 415V and 24V machine power and control systems.
11. Ability to read Electrical Schematics.
12. Good communication and interpersonal skills.
13. Willingness to travel.
14. Ability to work in a team (and autonomously) to achieve end goals.
15. Full UK Driving Licence.
