Job Description
We value a diverse workforce and welcome applications from all sections of the community wishing to join a workforce which embraces difference and welcomes everyone.
As part of the Flood and Coastal Risk Management directorate, you will represent the Data Analysis and Reporting Team (DART), engaging widely across the business to transform performance data into business, commercial, and programme information with a focus on capital delivery. While providing specific capabilities for the team, you will also have a general understanding across the team’s operation and will support accordingly as the need arises.
As a Senior Business Analyst, you will support identifying current gaps and challenges in management information and business intelligence reporting, work with and develop stakeholder requirements for data products such as dashboards, and translate this into user stories and tasks for data analysts.
Alongside requirements gathering for product development, the Senior Business Analyst will be a strategic thinker and will be required to engage Senior Leadership, presenting and offering solutions to data maturity challenges. The role will require horizon scanning to ensure the team is moving in the right direction and emerging issues are recognised and mitigated; this may involve engaging system owners and suppliers. There may be a requirement for some line management responsibilities, which will be discussed during the interview and is flexible.
Responding to incidents is a central part of what we do. You will be required to have an incident role and make yourself available to respond to incidents or provide business continuity support during an incident. This may attract additional payment, and full training and alternative working arrangements will be available to support you with your incident role.
