Location: Rushden / Wellingborough
Are you a reliable and experienced driver with a passion for ensuring the safety and well-being of students? We are currently seeking professional bus drivers to join our team both on our existing and new services. You would be experienced and already had experience in driving PCV and preferably some experience of operating local service buses.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate a bus, ensuring the well-being and comfort of student passengers throughout their journey.
- Adhere to all relevant traffic laws, regulations, and safety standards.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle.
- Maintain a clean and tidy bus interior, ensuring it is presentable for passengers.
- Communicate effectively with passengers, parents, and school staff, fostering a positive and respectful environment.
- Handle any emergencies or incidents that may arise during the journey.
Requirements:
- Hold a valid D license and Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC), or full car license (for trainee bus driver)
- Undergo enhanced DBS check.
- Previous experience in PSV operation preferred.
- Excellent driving skills and a strong commitment to passenger safety.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to interact with students, parents, and staff.
Working Hours and Benefits:
- Full-time: Earliest start 07:00, contracted hours is 35 per week, plus over-time.
- Term-time role: around 5 hours per day, from Monday to Friday, 06:30 - 09:00 & 15:00 - 17:30.
- The rate for a qualified bus driver is approximately £15/hr (Plus overtime / weekend bonus), subject to experience and qualifications.
- We pay drivers from start to finish (except spilt duties where a paid meal break is provided).
- We will provide uniform, holiday pay and necessary training for the position.
