The successful candidate will organise and perform experiments and analyses that support key technology projects and contribute directly to innovation and growth. Additionally, the successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the safe operation and maintenance of the R&D Polymer Innovation Centre (PIC) semi-technical plant asset located at our Hillhouse site, supporting the broader business objectives. Key Responsibilities: Assist in planning and performing experiments at laboratory, pilot, and production scales. Analyse and collate data using a range of in-house and external analytical services to evaluate material properties. Interpret, summarize, and communicate data through written reports and verbal presentations, making basic recommendations on future work direction. Implement laboratory experimental procedures and maintain safe working practices in line with all relevant internal and external regulations. Contribute to the continuous improvement of work procedures and instructions. Take responsibility for monitoring, defining, and maintaining SHE (Safety, Health & Environment) standards for specific equipment and/or laboratory areas. Support the safe and effective operation of the PIC semi-technical plant asset at the Hillhouse site. Occasional supervision of placement students or apprentices. Experience and Skills: Demonstrable working knowledge of a range of analytical techniques and materials application know-how. Strong analytical, communication, organizational, and team-working skills. High proficiency in IT and related software tools. Qualifications and Professional Memberships: Essential: Level 3 Apprenticeship/HND or equivalent in a relevant scientific or technical discipline with relevant industrial experience.
