The Environmental Permitting business is a specialist group within Climate and Sustainability Services portfolio, providing environmental permitting compliance support across multiple industry sectors including Energy, but also significant current and recent commissions in the Waste, Water, Glass, Food and Drink, Paper and Data Centre sectors.

The Opportunity
Due to an ever-increasing energy-focused consenting pipeline around industrial decarbonization, we have an exciting opportunity for an Environmental Permitting Consultant to promote the growth and continued success of the UK Environmental Permitting business. As a Permitting Consultant, you will play a key role in promoting the growth and continued success of the Environmental Permitting business across multiple industry sectors. Working as part of a peer group of specialists in the UK, you will assist our clients in achieving regulatory compliance at their existing and new regulated installations and activities, and you will also boost the growth aspirations of the business.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Preparation of permit application forms and Technical Documentation.
2. Preparation of Best Available Technique (BAT) reviews.
3. Environmental Management System development and implementation.
4. Environmental incident reporting and investigation.
5. Materials and waste assessment as part of EIAs.
6. Business development - scoping and preparing project proposals and deliverables.
7. Air Quality, Water Quality, Noise, Vibration and Odour Impact Assessments.
The role would suit a scientist or engineer with an appropriate level of knowledge, who is now looking to further develop their career.
Is this role right for you?
We are interested in the following skills:
* A relevant first degree (or equivalent) in science and/or engineering and preferably a relevant second degree (or equivalent) and working towards chartership in a relevant professional institution.
* Extensive knowledge of UK and European environmental legislation, in particular the Environmental Permitting Regulations, Industrial Emissions Directive and BAT Reference Documents (BRef), together with other relevant legislation and guidance.
* Knowledge of working on industrial environmental permitting.
* Experience writing and editing high-quality technical and non-technical reports.
