Application Deadline: 1 September 2024 Department: Football Location: Region - North Compensation: £27,000 - £30,000 / year Description The Scottish FA is looking to recruit 3 Football Development Officers who will be responsible for all football development initiatives within a defined geographical area within the North Region. With an emphasis on clubs and communities, Football Development Officer(s) will engage with and work towards building capacity within clubs and communities by bringing various stakeholders together to improve and develop the football for all offering. They will play a vital role within the region across a wide and interesting range of topics and will be pivotal in ensuring local, regional and national plans are successful for all involved in the game. The post holder will be allocated a specific geographical area within the North Region on which to focus in order to "localise" the day to day work load and provide an opportunity to focus and immerse themselves in this particular geographical area. Local Authority areas included are Aberdeen City, Aberdeenshire, Moray, Highland, Shetland Isles, Orkney Islands and na h-Eileanan Siar. Whilst the remit of the role spans across all areas in order to maintain flexibility and resilience, the post holder will be allocated a specific lead responsibility relevant to experience and in line with national outcomes, which they will drive across the entire North Region. Areas of focus will include: - Girls/Women's game - Coach Education coordination and delivery - Clubs development and participation - Cashback for Communities. The ideal candidate is someone with great passion and enthusiasm for improving the game in the North of Scotland; someone with great communication skills, able to build and develop relationships with stakeholders. The ideal person for the role has a valid C Licence in Coach Education, is IT literate, and has good interpersonal skills. Mostly though we're looking for someone with a great work ethic and willingness to learn. This role is offered initially on a fixed term basis for 2 years. Key Responsibilities · Implement solid channels for communication with key partners in order to shape and influence projects to develop identified Scottish FA Focus Clubs. · Co-ordinate and lead regionally the Scottish FA Club Accreditation Scheme. · Ensure the integration of club development programmes across key partners and stakeholders. · Co-ordinate, promote and support volunteer development initiatives across the Region with particular focus on attracting new and retaining volunteers into football. · Support the delivery of key National, Regional and local participation projects. · Co-ordinate the regional Football for All investment programme. · Coordinate the Girls & Women's Participation programmes within the region; supporting regular local activity for players in the small sided game pathway. · Coordinate the development of the regional club accreditation program supporting the structures/infrastructure for girls'/women's football. · Support the promotion of key events in the girls'/women's calendar. · Support the Equality, Diversity, and Para football projects within the region. · Support the development of the Scottish FA Player Pathway/Offering and deliver agreed workshops/programmes. · Promote, co-ordinate and deliver Scottish FA Coach Education and development courses for volunteers across the region, where appropriate. · Coordinate and support and delivery of the Scottish FA Learning Through Football initiative · Identify education and development needs and support the co-ordination of a comprehensive Education & Training Programme for volunteers across the region. · Support on an agreed national Football Development National Project & wider football development initiatives when required. · Support the regional infrastructure and facilities projects. · Assign designated budgets in accordance with the Regional Manager and identify, opportunities for accessing/securing additional funding · Produce and manage a work programme integral to allocated projects and other work priorities, and report against this as agreed with your Regional Manager. To carry out any other reasonable duties that may arise from time to time or be assigned by the Regional Manager.
