The Wessex Kidney Centre are looking for an enthusiastic, caring and attention to detail focussed individual to join our dedicated team of Secretaries to provide support to our Consultant Nephrologists and Nurse Specialists.
This post provides thorough and dedicated administrative/secretarial support to the Consultants Nephrologists providing a contact for patient concerns and queries, cross cover within the secretarial team, undertaking of all urgent correspondence.
Experience working in a busy office environment is essential, with the ability to prioritise and ensure first class patient care is delivered at all times. You will have outstanding customer service and communication skills, ideally within a secretarial or administrative support role and should be able to work under pressure, whilst remaining calm, polite and professional.
Previous experience with Portsmouth Hospital University NHS Trusts systems would be desirable, although training will be provided.
Job Summary:
1. Provide secretarial support to Consultant Nephrologists with the Renal Department, including all duties associated with this role. Typing of urgent correspondence, minute taking, diary management, answering of telephone calls from patients, clinical teams and external providers, PTL management for your Consultant activity/outcomes and general administrative tasks as required.
2. Provide administrative/secretarial to the Nursing teams, Registrars and Junior doctors if/when required.
3. Management of peripheral clinics undertaken by Consultant Nephrologists, ensuring clinics are utilised to their potential, adhering to appropriate timeframes for the cancellation of clinics, ensuring patients appointments are well managed and patients receive appointment/changes in an appropriate timeframe.
4. Direct contact for Nephrological patients, ensuring a high level of customer service is provided, liaising with the Consultant Nephrologist.
