NRL’s Engineering client based in Hull is looking to recruit an Industrial Hygiene Specialist to join them on a permanent staff basis.
About the role:
1. Lead the planning and delivery of Industrial Hygiene support to company Manufacturing and other stakeholders including delivery of agreed third party programmes as required.
2. Maintain awareness of technical and legislative developments in the field of environmental and occupational hygiene science, identifying and responding to those of relevance to the company
3. Lead the development and delivery of Hull Site Health Map environmental and industrial hygiene programme.
4. Provide an environmental and industrial hygiene troubleshooting service as required.
5. Lead, supervise and train Analytical Technicians and manufacturing technicians in the execution of agreed EIH activities.
6. Supervise and train staff in relevant IH skills.
7. Take a lead in all HSSE issues within the analytical laboratory and contribute to the development of a HSSE culture fully aligned with the goals of the Hull site.
8. Lead the maintenance of the technology for environmental and occupational hygiene capability and skill base within Hull.
9. Be responsible for the development of key EIH techniques to meet the existing and future needs of the company and other customers.
10. Create and participate in networks external to Hull to gain knowledge and maintain awareness of EIH developments providing EIH advice as required
What you will need?
Level of education & experience in general
11. Degree level in relevant science discipline. Relevant MSc or PhD desirable.
12. Certification: Diploma (or equivalent) of Professional Competence in a relevant subject area.
13. Extensive relevant experience in a manufacturing setting is essential.
14. Ability to contribute to the success of the team, fostering learning, sharing of ideas and building capability.
15. Demonstrated ability to think innovatively and provide creative solutions.
16. Ability to prioritise and set clear direction and boundaries.
17. Accreditation as a Member of an appropriate professional body and
18. Active knowledge of the UK Environmental Agency Monitoring Certification Scheme is desirable.
