Cheltenham College seeks to fill a number of Lifeguard vacancies.
Working Pattern: Zero Hours - Hours of work are arranged on a shift rota system which is likely to include evening and weekend work. Details of the shift system will be finalised by the Sports Centre Manager. Flexibility in working hours is a key requirement for this post.
Ideally, candidates will have a proven track record and previous experience in a busy wet and dry sports centre. A National Pool Lifeguard qualification is essential and a First Aid at Work certificate would be desirable, though training can be given.
Because of the nature of the role, applicants should:
* Be confident, self-motivated, and capable of working unsupervised in a busy environment.
* Have excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
* Be a team player with a cooperative, friendly, and adaptable attitude.
* Have smart presentation and proven customer service skills.

* Enforce Safety Rules: Conduct/take part in safety briefings with groups and ensure compliance and user safety through correct checks.
* Prevent Injuries: By means of utilising the whistle effectively and implement early interventions when necessary.
* Provide First Aid: Deliver first aid as needed.
* Communicate effectively: Use radios confidently and communicate confidently with customers and colleagues.
* Provide support for Cheltenham College Sports Centre EAP and safeguarding protocol.
Salary for all Lifeguard positions will be £12.36 per hour, plus an additional £1.49 in accrued holiday pay.
