We’re looking for a skilled and motivated Prep Paint Technician to join our team at our Colchester site. As a key part of our Paint & Body team, you’ll help ensure every vehicle is prepared and finished to the highest standard — helping us exceed customer expectations, every time. Your Role As a Prep Paint Technician, you’ll be responsible for the preparation and priming of vehicles before they go into final paint. Your attention to detail and commitment to quality will make all the difference in the repair journey. Key Responsibilities: Carry out all preparation work on vehicles prior to paint application Sanding, masking, priming & filler work, ensuring an even and smooth surface Identify and report any defects or additional work required Work closely with the Paint and Bodyshop teams to maintain workflow Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment Follow manufacturer repair methods and health & safety procedures What We’re Looking For Previous experience as a Prepper, Prep Technician, or Paint Prep Technician (Bodyshop or Accident Repair experience preferred) Good knowledge of paint preparation techniques and materials Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines Positive attitude and a strong team ethic Relevant qualifications are advantageous but not essential If you take pride in your prep & paintwork and want to join a business that values quality and teamwork — we’d love to hear from you.
