Location: Adult Day Centre
Salary: £25,000 per annum FTE, plus a £500 joining bonus
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm (Part-time options available: 3 or 4 full days per week)
Annual Leave: 23 days paid holiday plus bank holidays
About the Role:
Join this dedicated team of patient and caring individuals at their adult day centre, supporting autistic learners aged 18 and over. As a Youth Support Worker, you will:
1. Work individually and in small groups to develop knowledge and skills that enhance learners' well-being, independence, and social inclusion.
2. Utilise behaviour-driven teaching strategies and interventions to promote positive outcomes and development.
3. Support learners in applying their skills in real-world situations, both within their Centre for Lifelong Learning and in the community.
Key Responsibilities:
4. Provide comprehensive support, care, and teaching to autistic adult learners.
5. Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons and activities that support knowledge and skill development.
6. Offer behaviourally based support to mitigate behaviours that negatively impact quality of life.
7. Provide personal care, encouraging and enabling adult learners to maintain acceptable levels of hygiene, including toileting, dressing, and washing.
8. Support adult learners' participation in social, leisure, and educational activities within the local community.
9. Assist learners in accessing work experience and employment opportunities.
10. Monitor and track learners' progress to ensure effective, tailored support.
