About the role: As a Behaviour Support assistant, you will work closely with students who may display challenging behaviour, providing guidance and support to help them succeed in a structured and positive learning environment. Candidates with experience managing behaviour in school settings, youth work, or the SEN sector are encouraged to apply. Additionally, individuals with transferable skills from the Care sector or personal experience supporting family members with SEN, showcasing patience and adaptability, are also welcome. Essential Qualities That We Are Looking For: Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with behavioural needs. Implement behaviour management strategies in line with school policies. Assist in creating a safe and inclusive environment where students can thrive. Work collaboratively with teachers and SEN staff to address individual student needs. Build positive relationships with students, acting as a mentor and role model. The Successful Candidate Will: Experience supporting students with behavioural needs, either in a school setting or through transferable skills from roles such as youth work or SEN support. Patience, resilience, and a calm approach to managing challenging behaviours. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with students and staff. A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the well-being of students. Have an enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education. Why Join Us?
