Climb Recruitment are proud to be working with a leading Engineering company in the Sheffield area Role: Sawing Operative Main Purpose of Role: Processing jobs through Sawing operations. Main Duties: Operating 7 semi-automatic Kasto band saws in accordance with the work to list Extracting jobs using lifting equipment including slings, cranes and FLT PDA Operations – Moving jobs through the system using PDA system, Training against new systems brought into place. Weighing, measuring and inspection of orders prior to despatch Packing and despatching of goods out Use of visual management system to work safely to laid down standards Assisting in cleaning/tidying of machines at the end of the shift/job changeover as required Part marking and deburring of cut billets Use of floor cleaning machine to maintain cleanliness throughout and at the end of the shift Assisting other operations team members and team leaders as required on a variety of manufacturing jobs Maintain high levels of housekeeping Management of swarf Reporting maintenance requirements to the Operations Manager. Coolant/Blade stock management, ensuring minimum quantities are maintained. Essential Skills/Experience FLT Licence desirable Experience on Overhead crane Strong team player Computer literate Desirable Skills/Experience: Knowledge of the Metal Industry Experience cutting high nickel alloys is advantageous Time served Kasto band saw operator Usual Hours of Work Rotating shift pattern (Mornings and Afternoons) – Mornings: 6am-2pm Mon – Fri Afternoons: 2pm – 11pm Mon, Tue, Wed. 2pm – 10.30pm Thursday. 2pm – 6pm Friday.
