Become the Group Engineer for our Contracts and Construction Management Team As a forward-thinking in-house business unit, Hampshire Engineering Services offers a range of highways and civil engineering design capabilities to the County Council and other public authorities. Our Contracts management team are looking for a highly motivated, knowledgeable and supportive Group Engineer to lead our team through the construction of complex highways and civil engineering projects. As the group leader of our 10 person Contracts and Construction Management team, you will manage resourcing, development and working models for our dedicated team of NEC4 Project Managers and supervisors. You will also oversee the auditing of our contracts prior to tender and lead on working with our supply chain to overcome complex construction challenges on civil engineering and highways projects, typically ranging from under £100k to £10m in value. See some of our previous projects here. An analytical thinker with a creative approach to solving problems, you will be highly team-focused with excellent negotiating and influencing skills. You will also have a good awareness of current contractual, health and safety, environmental and technical issues. Your ability to use NEC4 contracts to manage complex projects, resolve problems and avoid disputes will be exemplary. The core functions of the Contracts and Construction Management team are: Delivering for Hampshire – Managing the delivery of projects during the construction phase to ensure the best value for money and quality for the County Council. Problem solving – Leading on finding the best solutions to overcome the technical, commercial and logistical challenges associated with constructing complex engineering and infrastructure projects. Improving how we work – Developing our team and sharing knowledge with other teams across the County Council to overcome buildability challenges, ensuring outstanding project delivery and continuous improvement. Growing our own – You will be the team leader for our Contracts and Construction Management team, leading on developing staff, recruitment and ensuring we work in a consistent way, whilst incorporating the latest industry and technological developments.
