About the Company:
My client is a well established business based in Slough, seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a growing organisation while working in a supportive and collaborative office environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Maintain accurate financial records, including sales and purchase ledgers.
* Process invoices, expenses, and payments efficiently.
* Conduct bank reconciliations and ensure accounts are kept up to date.
* Manage VAT returns and ensure compliance with HMRC regulations.
* Assist with payroll processing and employee expense claims.
* Produce monthly financial reports for management.
* Liaise with external accountants and auditors as required.
* Monitor cash flow, prepare budgets, and manage financial forecasts.
* Handle credit control to ensure timely client payments.
Skills and Experience Required:
* Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar financial role.
* Strong knowledge of accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, Sage. (They use Sage accounts, Sage payroll & Eque2)
* Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.
* Strong understanding of VAT returns and HMRC regulations.
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel with advanced spreadsheet skills.
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
* Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Qualifications:
* AAT qualification (or equivalent) preferred but not essential if experience is extensive.
