Full time: 35 hours per week
Fixed Term: from 1st March 2025 until 28th February 2026
We are looking for an exceptionally motivated researcher to take up a postdoctoral position in rational engineering of cell-free protein synthesis reactions, as part of the UKRI Future Leaders Fellowship ‘Self-sustaining cell-free systems’ led by Dr. Laohakunakorn. The post is fully-funded for 1 year, with the possibility of extension pending future funding success.
The Opportunity:
The successful candidate will conduct cutting edge research in cell-free synthetic biology. The candidate will carry out experiments using world-class lab automation facilities in the Edinburgh Genome Foundry, and use automation and statistical analysis to drive performance improvements in a key synthetic biological system. The project will equip the candidate with sought-after skills for a successful future career.
Your skills and attributes for success:
Excellent demonstrated track record of research in synthetic biology, lab automation, design of experiments, or high throughput screening
Expertise in coding and data analysis
Excellent planning, organisational, and presentation skills
Ability to use accumulated experience and creativity in problem solving
