Job Description We’re looking for a Senior Network Engineer to join our IT Infrastructure team within Connells Group. Working as part of an operationally focused team, you will be responsible for undertaking proactive and reactive monitoring of the Connells Technology Infrastructure, Platforms and various technology solutions, providing timely prevention or resolution of incidents, and appropriate escalation for major issues.We offer hybrid working arrangement with one day a week in our Leighton Buzzard office. Responsibilities: Designs, Implements and/or maintains IT infrastructure components like servers, networks, and storage systems. Troubleshoots technical problems and ensures system uptime and performance. Undertakes Problem resolutions through the re-design of solutions to mitigate recurring incidents. Designs and/or Implements security measures to safeguard data and systems. Collaborates with IT operations teams to resolve infrastructure issues. Assess and guides in the required level proactive monitoring and react to escalations from other IT teams to support Infrastructure Analysts. Logs, and completes allocated, Incident or Problem Tickets with appropriate level of detail. Assists with infrastructure capacity planning and resource allocation. Incident resolutions and Change implementation. Provides technical expertise and leadership in support of projects where appropriate. Mentors and guides more junior team members. Identifies opportunities, develop and implement infrastructure automation and scripting solutions. Day to Day technical aspects of the role: Network Design and Implementation: LANs, WANs and Wireless Networks: Plan, configure and optimize local area networks, wide area networks and wireless networks. Configure and optimize data centre networks using ACI. Quality of Service: Ensure optimal voice quality by implementing QoS settings. Telephony Systems: Design, deploy, and maintain complex telephony solutions, including both traditional PBX and modern VoIP systems. Advanced Troubleshooting and Support: Escalation Point: Handle escalated network issues, providing expert-level troubleshooting and resolution. Mentoring: Mentor junior network engineering staff, sharing your knowledge and best practices. User Support: Address user needs related to network and telephony services. Network Security and Monitoring: Security Measures: Implement security protocols, firewalls and encryption to safeguard voice and data traffic. Performance Monitoring: Proactively monitor network performance, identifying and addressing deficiencies. Collaboration and Project Management: Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with IT colleagues and other teams to assess, recommend and implement network solutions. Project Planning: Participate in network-related projects aligned with business initiatives. Documentation and Reporting: Network Documentation: Maintain accurate records of network configurations, diagrams and changes.
