We are looking for a Structural Engineer who is highly motivated with previous Material Handling industry experience to join our fast-growing Manufacturing team. Structural Engineers are tasked with the design, specification, and review of crane, hoist, runway, and BTH device components/systems.
This position requires a valid driver's license with no more than two (2) current moving violations.

Compensation: Base salary + commission and Semi Annual Performance Profit Sharing Bonus. *Additional compensation available for Professional Engineer (PE) applicants.
Hours: 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM (+ early starts and overtime as dictated by the position). Average weekly hours = 45.
Up to $5,000.00 Retention Bonus - Based on previous experience, talk to Human Resources for terms and more information.
Responsibilities:
* Assist sales and service departments with application review, equipment specifications, and steel/hardware sizing.
* Assist the purchasing department with sizing and sourcing steel, hardware, and other structural components.
* Concrete calculations for system and support foundations.
* Create approval drawings and detailed fabrication drawings for internal and external use.
* Create bills of material (BOM) for estimating and ordering.
* Design, specification, and review of crane, hoist, runway, and BTH device components/systems.
* Frequent supplier and client interaction during the quoting and ordering phases of projects.
* Generate layouts for components and configurations.
* Knowledge of applicable industry standards including but not limited to CMAA, AIST, AISC, AWS, and BTH-1.
* Occasional travel and client site visits will be required.
* Review and approve manufacturer kit and custom system drawings.
* Review and reverse engineer existing devices and systems.
* Structural calculations in accordance with YH internal and industry accepted standards.
* Work with and review client-provided drawings.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external clients.
* Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary client service.
* Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
* High school diploma or GED required.
* Undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university with a focus in Structural Engineering or related discipline required.
* Experience successfully managing multiple projects.
* Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and drawings.
* Proficient in welding symbology.
* This position requires a valid driver's license with no more than two (2) current moving violations.
* Previous crane, runway, and/or BTH lifting device design experience is a major plus.
* Previous welding, installation, or rigging experience is a major plus.

* Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
* Lift, move, or hold items weighing 50lbs. or more.
* Ability to obtain DOT certification and maintain re-certifications.
* Must be able to talk, listen, and speak clearly on the telephone.
