Murphy is recruiting for a Senior Engineer (HV Cables) to work with Murphy Applied Engineering. This role can be based out of our London office which is Kentish Town, or our North West Office, Warrington.

They design both permanent and temporary works for projects in all our locations and are a trusted source of expert advice for both Murphy colleagues and external customers.
Developing HV/EHV cabling systems specifications, concept/detailed design and design review, estimation, site supervision and support as required.
Provide technical support to the team on all aspects of HV cable system engineering and design
Prepare plant and equipment technical specification, power cable route specifications, tender specifications, technical and progress reports
Ensuring correct and accurate interface with other engineering functions involved in the projects, attend, and conduct internal and external meetings with colleagues, clients, and subcontractors.
Perform technical calculations including cable size, rating calculations, TMF and EMF calculations, Sheath induced voltage calculations and other.
Ensuring all project designs are compliant with CDM regulations, relevant legislation and company procedures
Degree (or equivalent) in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering
Detail design Experience of HV cabling projects
Co-ordination of HV Cable Works design and interfaces throughout project lifecycle including development of drawings & calculations
An understanding of the commercial and technical issues in undertaking a large-scale construction project
Ability and confidence to discuss engineering issues with people across various levels and disciplines
