We are seeking a Forest School Leader and Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated and enthusiastic team at our school. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire children to explore the outdoors, develop their creativity, and grow their confidence through hands-on, experiential learning.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Forest School Leader:
* Plan, deliver, and assess Forest School sessions that engage and inspire children in an outdoor setting.
* Promote children’s emotional, social, and physical development through structured outdoor activities.
* Ensure a safe and stimulating environment for outdoor learning.
* Work closely with teachers to integrate Forest School activities into the wider curriculum.
* Manage risk assessments and safety protocols for outdoor activities.
1. Teaching Assistant:
* Support the class teacher in the delivery of lessons and classroom activities.
* Assist in planning and preparing resources for both indoor and outdoor lessons.
* Provide one-on-one support for children with additional learning needs.
* Encourage children’s independence and participation in both classroom and outdoor activities.
* Help maintain a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.
You will need:
* Qualified Forest School Leader, or willingness to complete relevant training.
* Experience in supporting children in a primary school setting.
* Experience teaching children in a Forest School environment.
* A love for nature, the outdoors, and a commitment to experiential learning.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
* A patient, nurturing, and adaptable approach to supporting children’s learning and development.
* First Aid training (or willingness to undertake training).
