This position is crucial for the effective management and oversight of training design outcomes. The primary activities of the job holder are outlined below; however, it is expected that ongoing and forthcoming change initiatives may necessitate the development and enhancement of existing tasks, or the addition of new tasks to the role, to ensure the successful realisation of future strategic business objectives. The department's key tasks and responsibilities include:
- Collaborating with Pan-Service Requirement Setting and Joint Training Development Teams to develop training requirements.
- Reviewing draft Formal Training Statements.
- Leading and managing the design, review, and upkeep of assigned courses and other projects related to Land Systems Engineering.
- Overseeing the production and upkeep of Course Training Documentation Sets, adhering to the Defence Systems Approach to Training (DSAT) Quality Standards.
- Working with training personnel to assess, redesign, and modernise REME/RAF leadership, management training, and cooperating on the creation of blended learning solutions.
- Coordinating with DSEME Examination Centre Validation Officers, Training Development and Training Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to collaboratively produce and maintain the relevance of Assessment Strategies, Assessment Specifications, Learning Specifications and assessment methods.
- Partnering with Learning Technologies and Media teams to identify and implement opportunities to invigorate training and leverage delivery options on a Virtual Learning Environment (VLE).
- Representing DSEME Course Design at essential partner meetings.
- Civil Service line management and recruitment duties.
- Collaborating with external awarding organisations to secure achievable, appropriate accredited qualifications that align with training.
