Design/ Project Engineer

Job Purpose: To research, design, develop, manufacture, and test equipment s. Complete engineering projects by organizing and controlling all project elements. This is a responsible and highly versatile role at the heart of our operational process.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Serve as the primary contact for the client, involving them in contract execution and managing their expectations during contract fulfillment.
2. Determine client and project specifications, objectives, schedules, and responsibilities by reviewing client documentation and identifying customer requirements, conferring with the management team.
3. Manage suppliers and contractors to maintain project schedules by monitoring progress, coordinating activities, and resolving problems.
4. Maintain financial diligence through budget execution and cost control to meet projected profitability targets and business results.
5. Evaluate systems and products by designing and conducting testing programs and studying customer requirements.
6. Develop manufacturing processes by designing and modifying equipment for fabricating, building, assembling, and installing components.
7. Prepare data by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information for installation, testing, quality, packing, and weekly reports.
8. Support sales with technical analysis of enquiries, evaluating major enquiries, preparing technical offers, analyzing project specifications, and designing technical solutions.
9. Always comply with company policies, procedures, and instructions, working with the management team to implement these within your team.
10. Be involved in a range of work to enable the department to respond effectively to the requirements of the company.
11. Perform other duties as assigned by the directors or senior management team.
Key Skill Requirements:
12. Degree/HND or equivalent in an engineering discipline (HND must be accompanied by relevant work experience). Alternative qualifications may be considered.
13. Experience in a technical role.
14. Experience in project planning and cost control.
15. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
16. Strong knowledge of CAD modeling and drawings with experience in design development (experience with Solidworks is a plus).
17. Good understanding of manufacturing processes including machining and fabrication.
18. Hands-on, can-do attitude.
19. Excellent problem-solving skills and a creative mindset.
20. Team player with the ability to work independently.
21. Commercially aware with the ability to negotiate costs.
22. Ability to meet targets and deadlines.
23. Comfortable and capable of client management during meetings and testing.
24. UK Full Driving Licence.
