The Role
Working within a team of 5, the main purpose of the role is to ensure the completion and accuracy of the monthly payrolls across the schools and Central Office within the United Learning Group. This includes the processing of starters and employee changes, including statutory and non-statutory deductions. Answering payroll-related queries raised by the HR Team on behalf of the employees across the group. This role will also involve testing system changes ensuring that HMRC regulations are adhered to as and when changes are made. Reconciling monthly the Teacher Pension Reports to payroll data before submitting to the scheme. Occasionally supporting the Pensions department with Local Government Pension Scheme reporting as and when required. This role works within a small team, all of which are expected to strive to improve working practices and continue to improve customer service.
About You
Ideally, you will have the following desirable attributes:
* Experience of using computerised systems
* High level of accuracy and attention to detail
* Able to work in a calm and methodical manner, and deal with high volumes of work
* Experience of working in and supporting a busy office environment
* Experience of pension administration, particularly Teacher Pensions and Local Government Pension Schemes is desirable but not essential as training will be given
* Excellent ICT skills and experience in the use of Office software
* High degree of discretion in dealing with confidential information
* High level of initiative whilst working alone
* Ability to prioritise and proactively manage a demanding workload whilst working to deadlines
* Excellent team working skills
