Internal Audit Manager / Senior Internal Auditor
Manchester City Centre (Hybrid working 2 days a week)
Due to an expanding team, we have a newly created role for an Internal Auditor to join our team based in Manchester. You will be working with a newly established internal audit team who have already had a meaningful impact within the business. In this position your voice will be heard, and you will be able to make a real difference. The role will suit someone who has either worked in IA and Risk services within a professional services firm or has had at least one IA role within industry.
The Role
Reporting to the Director of Internal Audit and Risk, you will undertake financial, operational and other risk-based and compliance reviews. This includes reviewing and providing advice on the adequacy and effectiveness of the control framework and control environment.
You will be responsible for assisting the Premier Foods’ Board and management team in monitoring and reporting on the effectiveness of business controls and risk management activities throughout the Group. You will also support the Director of Internal Audit and Risk in providing assurance to the Audit Committee and the Board, through an independent professional internal audit service, that risks throughout the Group’s operation are adequately identified, managed and addressed by internal controls that are proportionate and operating effectively.
Key Requirements
1. Commercial and financial acumen;
2. Ability to undertake risk-based reviews as opposed to solely compliance reviews;
3. Ability to review financial/commercial/operational/IT processes;
4. Excellent report writing skills underpinned by the ability to clearly and succinctly draft review findings and make pragmatic practical recommendations to produce ‘impactful’ reports;
5. Effective oral communication including presenting to senior personnel, and strong influencing skills;
6. Steadfast follow-up skills including the ability to handle competing priorities and meeting deadlines and commitments;
7. Full, clean driving license to be able to undertake factory site visits;
8. Self-starter who is motivated to perform; takes responsibility for delivery;
9. Demonstrates agility/ability to work in and adapt to different environments;
10. Preference for an FMCG/manufacturing background;
11. Exposure to SAP environment;
12. Experience deploying data analytics in reviews where possible/appropriate.
