Main duties of the job
Working closely with registered dietitians you will;
• assist the dietitians to deliver the service
• help dietitians arrange and deliver patient reviews
• help deliver education and training on nutrition.
• assist with data collection for statistics, audit and research,
• assist with admin and updating and developing dietary resources.
We are looking for a self-motivated individual with strong communication and team working skills who is committed to improving the nutrition experience of our patients. A formal nutrition qualification and / or experience of working in a hospital or caring environment are desirable but not essential.
We will provide a comprehensive induction programme and competency framework to enable you to progress from a band 3 to a band 4. You will participate in appraisals and clinical supervision to enable you to develop the appropriate skills and knowledge.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
1. English Language and Maths GCSE (or equivalent)
2. A Level or NVQ Level 3 (or above) or equivalent qualification in relevant area
Desirable criteria
3. Completion of healthcare related qualification / training programme
4. Completion of nutrition related qualification
Experience
Essential criteria
5. Background knowledge of nutrition and its role in health and disease
6. Experience of working in a caring / NHS environment, or equivalent
7. Experience of working as part of a team
8. Experience of working in a customer service environment
9. Experience of self-directed working
10. Understanding of the importance of clinical governance
Desirable criteria
11. Previous experience working as a therapy or health care assistant within the NHS
12. Experience of working in a nutrition related field
Skills
Essential criteria
13. Good oral and written communication skills with people from a wide variety of backgrounds
14. Good interpersonal skills including observation, listening and empathy skills
15. Ability to prioritise and manage own workload
