This Senior Editor's main focus is assisting the Managing Editor in the management, resourcing and support of Lonely Planet’s pool of freelance editors (both copy and layout). What You'll Do: Working as part of a team, the primary responsibilities of this role are: Recruitment and training of new freelance editors Quality assurance and maintenance of editorial standards, including adherence to Editorial Principles and the guidebook structure guidelines through: ongoing checking of work and giving of feedback to freelance editors ongoing support of freelance editors development and maintenance of editorial style and process documentation Scheduling and contracting of resources What We're Looking For: Extensive editorial experience Experience of Lonely Planet’s structure, editorial style conventions and production processes High-level understanding and knowledge of editorial conventions Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel, InDesign Extensive editorial experience Experience of Lonely Planet’s structure, editorial style conventions and production processes High-level understanding and knowledge of editorial conventions Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel, InDesign and Adobe Acrobat on a PC platform Strong recruitment and selection skills Desirable: Excellent eye for detail Excellent relationship building, training and liaison skills Excellent communication, problem solving and negotiation/persuasion skills A thorough understanding of operating in a content management system Ability to work independently but also as part of a team Excellent written and verbal presentation skills Ability to work well under pressure Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritise workload while maintaining strong attention to detail Must be customer focused with a flexible and adaptable attitude and a proactive, constructive approach Passion for travel Please enquire about retirement fund options and other benefits available.
