Kirkbride Doctors Surgery is a small, community-focused medical practice located in Wigton, Cumbria. The surgery provides healthcare services to the local population, including general consultations, vaccinations, and minor treatments. The practice also works in close collaboration with local healthcare providers to ensure care for all patients. Within the business administrator role you will need to have excellent communication skills and maintain a professional manner at all times. You will need to comply with patient confidentiality and GDPR and be able to undertake multiple tasks while working to time constraints. There will also be a requirement to cover the reception desk on an ad hoc basis. The role will include the following responsibilities: Answer telephone calls politely to make and cancel patient appointments. Directing patients to appropriate professionals and services. Liase with hospitals regarding referrals and appointments Manage and maintain patient records and ensure accurate documentation Coordinate communication between medical staff, patients, and visitors Assist with administrative tasks to support the healthcare team Handle incoming and outgoing mail Maintain patient records, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy Assist with administrative tasks such as filing and scanning documents Personal Qualities: Presentable Good communication with colleagues & patients Skills required: Good communication Working as part of a team Good time keeping Working Week: Monday – Friday Between the hours 8:00 – 18:30 up to 40 hours per week Training to be provided and expected Apprenticeship duration: Business Administration Level 3 – 18 months Entry Requirements: A minimum of grade 4/C in English and Maths at GCSE or equivalent
