This role has arisen with a manufacturer in Cwmran, South Wales.
The role will involve working collaboratively with Procurement colleagues, assisting in the procurement process by monitoring stock levels, researching vendors, tracking orders, and maintaining purchasing records. You will manage and coordinate a variety of activities to ensure timely, cost-effective procurement of supplies and equipment based on the organisation’s needs.
The Role:
1. Assist Procurement Purchasing Manager with obtaining supplies, services, and equipment at the best possible price.
2. The company’s packaging materials and other consumables purchases based on weekly stock levels and budget allowance.
3. Monitor and check data and inventory accuracy and report promptly on errors or incorrect data, conducting on-site inventory inspections and preparation of inventory.
4. Keep detailed records, prepare and maintain purchasing reports for review by management.
5. Ensure that purchase orders are completed accurately and on time.
6. Provide detailed and accurate information to other departments promptly when needed.
7. Implement and manage a supplier evaluation system to assess and rank suppliers based on performance criteria such as quality, delivery, and responsiveness.
8. Address Supplier rejection rate and cost to Procurement Manager.
The Person:
1. Manufacturing experience.
2. Experience of working within a purchasing/procurement/logistics department.
3. Strong administration skills, able to use Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
4. Good understanding of supply chain procedures.
5. Proven negotiation skills with suppliers/vendors.
6. Excellent analytical skills and strong attention to detail.
7. Excellent written, verbal, and telephone communication skills.
8. Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
9. Ability to be proactive and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
